Osun Residents Lament 5-month Blackout, Seek Adeleke’s Intervention
Residents of Kajola and surrounding communities in Iwo, Osun State, have called on the state government to come to their rescue over their lingering power crisis.
According to a Facebook post, the residents have been in total blackout since the breakdown of their electricity transformer five months ago.
The affected areas are; Alaye’s Compound, Barrack Mosinola, Ile-Mokoda, Ile-Omole, Ode-Oniyan, Olode Cinema, Ile-Motoku, among others.
The post quoted a resident, Morufat Mutalubi, that the prolonged blackout has crippled economic activities in the area.
“We have been without electricity for five months. Our transformer got spoiled and life has been unbearable. Business is not moving, and people are suffering. We are on our knees begging our leaders to come to our aid,” Mutalubi said.
