The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has applauded the role Osun teachers are playing in the society towards building an enlightened nation.
Egbedun stated this today when he hosted the State leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in his office.
According to a statement by the spokesperson for the speaker, Tiamiyu Olamide, a copy received by Osun Defender, Egbedun said teachers are critical stakeholders in building society, commending the Governor of the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his initiative to prioritise workers’ welfare.
According to him, “teachers are the foundation builder of the society. The first contact children do have after their parents are teachers. They mould and nurture dreams, hence deserve to be well-motivated.”
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Fatade Muritala Olatoke asked the speaker for his intervention on some of their request.
