THE Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji, on Wednesday, donated a 100KV electric transformer to the people of Ekuro community in Egbedore Local Government area of the state.
The community, situated along Iwo/ Osogbo road, had been in complete darkness for over a year.
The Councillor for Ward 7 in Egbedore Local Government, Hon. Sulaimon Tokunbo, who spoke on behalf of the SSG at the event, explained that the welfare of every citizen and communities in Osun is paramount to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Tokunbo held that availability of light, which adds value to human life, necessitated the rural electrification project embarked upon by the current administration.
He however, appealed to the people of the area to support Oyetola’s re-election bid as more dividends of democracy will be extended to the area.
Reacting to the development, the Elekuro of Ekuro, Oba Babalola Azeez, who expressed happiness on getting the new transformer, explained that non-availability of light since over a year ago has crippled the economic activities in the community.
Oba Azeez described Prince Oyebamiji as a blessing to Egbedore Local Government area with all the developmental strides he has facilitated to the area.
