In continuation of the payment of gratuities and pensions in the State of Osun, the Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has approved the payment for the next set of pensioners across the state.
This was disclosed in Osogbo by the State Head of Service, Dr Olowogboyega Oyebade while briefing stakeholders on the payment of pensions and gratuities in the State.
According to him, the payment will cut across retirees of both the old pension scheme as well as contributory pension scheme including those of local governments.
The State Head of Service stated that the payment would be made on first come, first served basis and listed the befeficiaries and the total amount to be Paid as
(I) Twenty Five million Naira as gratuity to to 250 teaching and non- teaching staff of elementary schools across the state;
(Ii) N19.4 million as gratuity to 194 retired local government staff;;
(Iii) N30 million to additional 300 retirees cutting across all strata of the public service including Civil Service, parastatals and TESCO.
Dr. Oyebade further disclosed that the sum of N143,952,980.00 will be paid to 17 teaching and non teaching staff under the Contributory Pension Scheme while N150,327, 958.16 will be paid to 35 retirees of local governments
He further revealed that Mr Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has graciously approved the release of N186,126 899.00 (One Hundred and Eighty six Million .One Hundred and Twenty Six Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety Nine Naira) only to the remaining 24 retirees whose papers were ready as at 31st December, 2015 and further disclosed that one retired Executive Secretary, two General Managers and two Directors General made the list as their funds have also been released for payment.
The Head of Service the reiterated the commitment of Mr Governor at making life more meaningful for retirees and the people of the state. He therefore urged them to continue to support the present administration in the State.
Meanwhile, all concerned retirees have been advised to check their names on the notice boards of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Bureau of Local Government Pension as well as the Public Service Office where the lists would be displaced as from Monday 5th March, 2018.
