Osun Suspends New Daily Ticket Fees For Commercial Motorcyclists

The state government of Osun on Wednesday announced the suspension of the N100 new daily ticket free for commercial motorcyclists in the state.

In a statement from the Internal Revenue Arm of the state, the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola ordered the immediate suspension of the exercise till further notice.

Motorcycle operators in the state on Tuesday hindered traffic at the popular Olaiya junction protesting the hike in the daily ticket fees which they said was raised from N50 to N200.

The statement said “Consequent upon the resistance of some members of commercial Okada riders’ association in the state on a daily ticket consolidation of N100 fee payable to the association and N100 payable to the State Government as road tax agreed upon by the Commercial Okada Riders’ association and the State Government, the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, in his magnanimity has once again exhibited a portrait of virtue to continuously create a bridge of peace and
tranquility among the citizenry by ordering suspension of the exercise till further notice in order to entertain all concerns.

“All commercial Okada riders in the State are therefore enjoined to continue with their daily activities devoid of rancour.”
