Osun To Attract Foreign Direct Investments Through Global Partnerships

  • As Special Adviser Seeks Legislative Backing To Strengthen Investment Act

The Osun State Government is set to draw the global community to the state through a solid policy framework that creates opportunities for foreign direct investments and partnerships.

The concept tagged Osun Global Initiative will also engender the propelling of the state to an industrial hub from its agrarian nature.

Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Global Investments and Partnerships, Mr. Yemi Owolade disclosed this to newsmen after a meeting with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, recently.

Owolade noted that it is the agenda of the Ademola Adeleke-led administration to change the narrative of Osun from being a civil service state to a more productive economy, through the cooperation of local and foreign investors.

He said the meeting with the head of the state legislature was premised on the review of the State Investment Act as well as the Policy Framework of the present government to improve the lots of the citizenry.

Owolade, an experienced technocrat with records of landmark inputs in the global

business space assured that his office will work hand-in-hand with key government institutions statewide and nationally to drive the investment pact of the five-point agenda of the Governor.

He said: “The objective was to collaboratively examine and enhance the state’s investment act and policy frameworks, all with the ultimate vision of ensuring both the investor and the state are shielded while simultaneously championing the interests of the Osun State populace.

“The Speaker’s feedback highlighted the significance of collaboration between the legislative and executive branches to achieve Osun State’s goals. The discussions also emphasised the need for a united approach in presenting Osun

State as an attractive destination for global investment.

“The meeting between the Special Adviser and the Speaker is a positive sign for the investment landscape of Osun State. Through open and honest discussions like these, Osun State is establishing itself as an attractive destination for investment while prioritizing its citizens’ well-being.”

The Special Adviser who was accompanied by Mr. Kayode Onayemi, also met the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Mr. Simeon Amusan and the Auditor General of Osun State.

The Osun Global Initiative when fully launched is expected to set the gold standard for strategic partnerships and sustainable growth in Nigeria. It is also

committed to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s vision of transforming Osun State from a civil servant-based economy to an industrial, revenue-generating State.
