Osun To Create New Board For Senior Secondary Education
A new board for Senior Secondary Education is in the offing in Osun State.
This follows the passage of Osun State Senior Secondary Education Board Establishment Bill 2024, on Tuesday.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that motion for final passage of the bill was moved by the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Babajide Kofoworola, and seconded by a member representing Ila State Constituency, Hon. Sikiru Bajepade, at plenary.
The Speaker, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, who explained that the bill aims to manage senior secondary schools, assured that it will benefit post-primary education in the state.

According to him “The passage of the bill is necessary to put the senior secondary school affairs in good shape in the state”.
“The bill is best one at this moment for the development of Senior secondary schools across the state’ he added.
He noted the bill will be forwarded to Governor Ademola Adeleke for assent.
In the meantime, the lawmakers also considered the Osun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Establishment Amendment No 1 Bill 2024 to empower Amotekun Corps to arrest, detain and prosecute criminals in the state.
