Osun To Leverage Facebook To Promote Tourism, Strengthen Community Bond

Osun State is set to leverage the use of social media to promote tourism and foster community engagement in the state.

This year’s Osun Facebook Hangout will be used to create a sense of unity and pride among residents of the state.

It will also use Facebook to strengthen the bond within Osun communities with residents voicing their concerns, suggestions, and aspirations for the development of the state during the event.

The Chairperson, Osun Facebook Hangout 2023, Mutiat Adewale-Oyediran, who disclosed this on Wednesday, noted that individuals and organizations can come together to showcase the beauty, culture, and opportunities that Osun has to offer.

She said, “In recent years, social media platforms have become an integral part of our lives, connecting people from different corners of the world. Facebook, being one of the most popular platforms, has revolutionized the way we communicate and share information.

“The primary purpose of hosting the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 is to leverage the power of social media to promote the state of Osun as a tourist destination, foster community engagement, and encourage economic growth.

“By organizing this event, the state government aims to create a platform where individuals, businesses, and organizations can come together to showcase the beauty, culture, and opportunities that Osun has to offer.

“One of the key objectives of the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 is to promote tourism in the state. Osun is blessed with natural wonders, historical sites, and cultural heritage that are often overlooked. By utilizing the reach and influence of Facebook, the event aims to attract both local and international tourists to explore the hidden gems of Osun.

“Another important purpose of the Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 which will come up on December 17 is to foster community engagement. Social media has the power to bring people together, regardless of their geographical location. By hosting this event, the state government aims to create a sense of unity and pride among the residents of Osun. It will provide a platform for individuals to share their stories, experiences, and talents, thereby strengthening the bond within the community.

“Additionally, the event will encourage active participation from the residents, allowing them to voice their concerns, suggestions, and aspirations for the development of the state.

“The Osun Facebook Hangout 2023 also aims to stimulate economic growth in the state. By showcasing the diverse range of products, services, and industries present in Osun, the event will attract potential investors and entrepreneurs. It will provide a platform for local businesses to promote their products and services, thereby expanding their customer base. Furthermore, the event will create networking opportunities, allowing businesses to form partnerships and collaborations, leading to increased economic activity and job creation.”
