After several weeks of uncertainty and anticipation over Osun United’s Nigeria National League (NNL) return, fans and supporters of the Omoluabi Giants can heave a sigh of relief as all necessary documentation with the management of Nigeria National League have been completed in Abuja today Thursday, 14th November, 2019.
Recall that the management had last week reported that the required process has not been fully completed even after gotten the slot but now, all paperwork with the league management and the concerned team have been finalised.
A release by the club’s spokesman, Tajudeen Amodu states that the President of the club, Chief Ademola Adesina who expressed happiness with the development on behalf of the management, appreciated the maximum support from the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Engagement, Hon. Yemi Lawal to make the process easy with his administrative experience.
The Omoluabi Giants has thus replaced Collins Edwin Sports of Lagos in the Group B1 of the 2019/2020 NNL and will play its first game at home to neighbouring Ekiti United on Saturday, 22rd November, 2019 at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
The group also housed tough opponents such as arch rival Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Ibom Youths of Uyo, Gateway United of Abeokuta, Apex Crane of Agbhor and Go Round FC of Omoku.
Others are Dynamite FC of Iyamo, Akajiobi United of Owerri, Abia Comets of Umuahia, Nilayo FC of Abeokuta and Giant Brillars of Enugu.
