Osun Water Corporation Chair Harps On Youth Empowerment
The Chairman, Osun Water Corporation Board, Mr. Samuel Oyedokun has harped on the need for well-meaning and privileged members of the society to complement government’s efforts in youth empowerment and emancipation.
Oyedokun also sought the collaboration of all stakeholders in creating veritable platforms for the younger generation to thrive and become key players in the nation’s economy.
This is just as he pledged a sum of N100 million through the Sam Oyus Foundation to give back to the society.
Oyedokun, a financial expert and business consultant announced this at the weekend while addressing guests at a thanksgiving and reception ceremony organised to celebrate his appointment as Osun State Water Corporation Board Chairman.
“I am happy to announce the launch of Sam Oyus Foundation (SOF) with N100million for short, medium and long term implementation model”, he said.
Oyedotun explained further that “through this foundation, we will provide the needed guidance and financial support to various categories of people in our society”.
“We will directly engage and empower the youthful generation in numerous skill acquisition with modern technology and digital skills.
“We will focus on changing the mindset and thoughts of our youths, which will give them and other beneficiaries a place in the competitive global market as well as boost job creation and reduce unemployment.
‘We will educate our farmers on modern techniques and ways of farming while providing start up capitals, we will revitalize the SMEs, we will provide scholarship to our sons and daughters in primary and secondary schools as well as tertiary institutions”, he added.
Oyedotun further appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for his appointment into office which is an opportunity to serve the people of Osun state in the area of water provision which is key to human existence because water is necessary for the survival of all living organisms on Earth.
