OsunOpenLG: Stakeholders To Debate Local Govt Autonomy
As debates continue on autonomy and effective local government administration, a stakeholders’ meeting to further deepen the discourse will be held in Osogbo, on Monday August 26.
Organised by the Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development at the instance of the OsunOpenLG Project, the meeting according to the Project Lead, Jare Tiamiyu will attract the attendance of eggheads across the country.
The theme for the event is Local Government and Uniform Development at the Grassroots.
According to a statement made available to OSUN DEFENDER late Thursday, Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egebdun, Project Director of the National Democratic Institute Abuja, Mr. Bem Aga, and the member representing Egbedore/Ede North/Ede South federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam will lead the discourse with keynote remarks.

Panellists expected at the event include the Chairman, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Barr. Hashim Abioye, a lawmaker in the state, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu, Chairman, Osun State Civil Societies Coalition (OCSC), Comrade Waheed Lawal and Osun State NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs Abisola Ariwodola.
Others are Mr. Bukola Idowu, Executive Director, Kimpact Development Initiative; Barr. Hassan Mohammed, Osun State ICPC Resident Commissioner among relevant stakeholders in the state.
Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammed Oyelude Makama, and the Alawo of Awo, Oba Taiwo Adegboye are the royal fathers of the day.
The event is also to feature the inauguration of the 66 advocates of OsunOpenLG, the issuance of pledge cards to stakeholders, interactive sessions, and more.
