A House of Representatives member, representing Aba North/ South Federal Constituency, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, had attracted attention and outrage following a viral video where he assaulted an Uber driver.
The incident happened during a delivery at his residence in Maitama, Abuja.
According to the driver, tension escalated when he requested that the lawmaker come outside to receive his delivery personally.
In a viral video posted on X, the lawmaker was seen slapping the driver.
He also threatened to make the driver disappear without traces.
He said, “Imagine this rat, I can make this man to disappear in the whole Nigeria and nothing would happen. I’m not going to give this boy one naira of my money.
I’m not going to call my policemen to beat you up. I will beat you up, I will show you that I’m a big brother to you. I will lie you down and lock you in my generator house.
