The reported appointment of two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) on agriculture by the Chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Governmet Area of Enugu State, Dr Eric Ogbonna Odo, has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians.
In separate letters dated November 1, 2024, Ezeugwu Frederick Ogbonna of Akwash Ohodo was appointed SSA on Agriculture, specializing in Yam and Pepper, while Nwodo Everestus Ugonna of Uwani-Otobo, Umu-Ezike Aku, was appointed SSA on Garden Egg and Pepper.
The appointees were directed to report to the council headquarters in Ogbede for briefing.
The chairman, in the letters, clarified that the appointments are temporary and held at his pleasure, stressing their focus on agricultural productivity.
