•Officers Locked Me Up For Days, Threaten To Kill Me – Victim
An X User, Harrison Gwamnishu @HarrisonBbi18 has called out the Nigerian Police Force over the alleged extortion of a young man by officers from Zone 9, Umuahia, Abia State capital.
Gwamnishu, who posted the video alongside a receipt, said the police forcefully extorted the sum of N1.1 million from the victim, adding that they alleged the young man to be an Internet fraudster.
In the receipt, the sum of N940,000 was paid into the account of one Ozuruigbo Nwanekwu Innocent.
He also said the police officers threatened to kill the victim if he did not cooperate with them, adding that the young man was released after sending the money to them.
Meanwhile, in the video uploaded, the victim, Kingsley Chigase, an indigene of Enugu State, while narrating his ordeals, said he was arrested and kept in custody for days before he was released after paying the money requested.

He said, “It happened on Friday. I was arrested by men of the Police Force Zone 9, Umahia.
“On our way to Umahia, they threatened to kill me if I didn’t comply with them, which I did.
“When we got to the station, they collected my phone and went through it. They claim I’m an Internet fraudster which I’m not.
“They locked me up on that Friday till the following Tuesday when they brought me out and requested for the sum of N1.1m which I paid.”
