More than 200 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 05, Ekosin/Iyeku, Odo-Otin Local Government area of Osun State have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The mass defection, which took place on Sunday, marks a turning point in the political landscape of the area.
The defectors, led by Hon. Yekeen Balogun, cited dissatisfaction with the APC’s governance, highlighting the negative impact the party’s policies have had on the masses.
In his address, Hon. Balogun emphasized that the APC had failed to fulfill its promises and had caused more hardship for the people.
The defecting APC members were welcomed by prominent PDP leaders, including the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun, Hon Olatunji Taye and Hon. Aderibigbe Rasheed Asendo.

In his remarks, Speaker Hon. Adewale Egbedun congratulated the defectors for their bold decision and assured them that the PDP would work tirelessly to address the challenges faced by the community.
He also emphasized that the PDP is committed to good governance, grassroots development, and the overall welfare of the people of Osun State.
