Owa Ilare Festival: Ife Residents, Artisans Continue Businesses Despite Restriction Of Movement

Despite the celebration of Owa Ilare festival in Ile Ife on Saturday afternoon, scores of traders, residents, transport workers still performed their daily activities without fear.

The Waasin of Ife land, who is a traditional ruler of Ilare quarters, Oba Zacheous Olasoji had on Friday said that Owa Ilare festival will hold on Saturday, announced restriction of movement during the celebration.

Our correspondent observed that scores of residents, transport workers and others defied the order and went on with their businesses in the ancient city.

It was gathered that the Owa Ilare festival lasted for two hours and was meant to clear the land from devils attack .
