THE Executive Secretary, Olorunda North Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Honourable Quadri Owonikoko has pledge to ensure that the people of the council feel the impact of his government to the fullest.
He made the pledge recently during the familiarization tour to Alare/Abidogun Community in the LCDA of the area.
Owonikoko who was received by the Baale of Alare, Pa Muili Folorunso was reacting to the demands of the community dwellers that their roads be graded, and requested for the supply of a transformer to ease electricity problems, as well as construction of a maternity centre.
Owonikoko agreed with the residents that the presence of government has been hardly felt because the roads were indeed in dilapidated condition.
Even though, we have planned to rehabilitate roads in this area, but coming here today, we know we have to do more, he emphasized.
He, however, cautioned people not to be over-optimistic, as there are demands that could not be met because of the paucity of funds, assuring the people that their demands can be met if they play their own part.
Owonikoko asked the residents to pay their rates, procure their building plans from the LCDA and get streets named after them at a cheaper rate.
As a new LCDA, the challenges are enormous but we are undaunted, he stressed.
He said he and his team, both politicians and career officers are interested in laying a solid foundation for themselves so that their name would be written in gold.
Owonikoko was grateful to Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his appointment and promised to work hard enough to justify the re-election of his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He attributed the beautiful landscape of Osogbo, the State capital to the giant strides of Aregbesola which he felt deserves continuity.
