Supporters and loyalists of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, have called a former governorship aspirant in the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, alleging him of creating division within the APC.
The supporters were reacting to a post by a loyalist of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Olaide, who had suggested that someone in the party was leading a rebel group.
Olaide had in a post on his Facebook page, wrote, “I’m not sure what’s still holding you back from joining the mainstream. Must every system favour you? Why must you always lead a rebel group? T’oni o jô t’an”.
Even though the APC member did not mention Omisore, comments on his post, as monitored by OSUN DEFENDER, suggested that Olaide might be referring to the former national secretary of the APC.
OSUN DEFENDER also observed that Omisore is the only bigwig among the aspirants who were asked to step down for Oyebamiji that is yet to publicly align with the APC candidate.
Commenting on Olaide’s post, a member of the APC in Osun, David Fagbohungbe, wrote, “This is what my post centred around yesterday night…you were 6 Aspirants apart from the eventual candidate. 5 have accepted their fate and braced up to work for the victory of the party but Enikan yari kanle. My question if he was the one chosen, can he do it alone?”
Another member of the party with the user name, Ajisekola, while reacting to the post, said, “I was at Ogooluwa Axis yesterday, and one of our brother from Ife that belong to Omisore camp was telling me, we will teach you a lesson from Ife. We can’t wait 8 years.
“We will rather wait 4 years. I was furious to tell him back that whatever you do today, y’all will also reap same thing in that coming 4 years. This was the reason your Oga can not be entrust with the party.”
Popoola Akinbode while commenting on the post, wrote, “Ife believe they have all it takes to do it, and presently they said if APC can not pick the Deputy Governor from Ife, they will not work with APC. Let the party move on and stay focused, Abere (Bola Ige House) is our home come November 27.”
However, in a dissenting opinion, a loyalist of the former deputy governor, Omo Alhaja, questioned while the APC gubernatorial candidate supporters were concerned having labelled Omisore as a man with no electoral value.
“He has no electoral value, where you are people concern? Abi na Ife Chiefs Visitation made you rethink,” he queried.
