A member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Salam has described the governor of the State of Osun, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola as a non responsive governor.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker said this while featuring on a radio current affairs program monitored in Osogbo, on Monday.
Salam further revealed that there is no working relationship between the Osun State Governor and members of the opposition party, especially those in the National Assembly.
According to Salam, the withdrawn behavior of the governor has made Osun lose out on many occasions.
He maintained that Governor Oyetola and officials who work with him do not think it necessary to build bi-partisan relationships across political divides.
According to him, “When it is time for politics, it will be played but at the level of governance where trust is held for the people there is need to be less partisan, more altruistic, more patriotic and statesmanly in whatever is done but unfortunately that has not happened with this administration.
“I had at a time reached out to the governor towards funding for the proposed Ido Osun airport which falls under my constituency.
“I had also involved two senators from the state in the plan but was frustrated by the state government and an opportunity was missed to advance the project by including it in the 2021 federal budget.”
He admonished Oyetola to be a governor for the whole state adding that being one means he has to operate at a level that transcends politics.
“When the time comes, we will go into the fields and everybody is going to give accounts of their stewardship to the people,” he added.
