Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has commended a member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yinusa Amobi for his massive empowerment programme in Iwo Federal Constituency which is one of a kind in the history of the constituency.
The governor stated this on Saturday in Iwo, headquarters of the Federal Constituency while declaring open the distribution of the empowerment items for the people of the area.
Oyetola who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji stressed that the empowerment is in line with the giant strides of the present administration which focuses on the betterment of the citizenry.
The governor said that since inception of his government, he has paid keen attention to building and revitalising the economy, that is syndicated upon an aggressive force for the prosperity of the people of Osun.
Oyetola noted that the government will continue to do its best to support socio-economic development and empowerment of the teeming citizens to become of active value and wealth creators.
According to him, “I must mention that this programme is supportive of our administration’s commitment to make lives better for our citizenry.
“We are convinced that our quest to build Osun of our dreams is only possible to the extent which our people empowered to contribute to societal development.
“We will continue to be guarded by truth in believing on our development agenda with focus on accountability and integrity.
Speaking at the flag-off of the empowerment programme, the lawmaker representing Ayedire, Iwo and Olaoluwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yinusa Amobi said the programme was to complement the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s good governance in human capacity development and service delivery.
Amobi appreciated his constituents for their support since his assumption of office pledging that he will continue to provide effective and qualitative representation in the green chamber.
“I wish to categorically say that the symbiotic relationship that is existing between members of National Assembly and the government of the state of Osun will continue to grow in ensuring that our common goal of developing this state to greater heights is not shaken,” he said.
Some of the items distributed at the event include hundred motorcycles, fifty three sewing machines, forty freezers, forty seven generators, five tricycles and sixty coolers.
Also distributed were hundred gas cylinders and forty seven dryers.
13 Toyota Camry cars were presented to All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders across the three local governments of the constituency.
Speaking at the event, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu II extolled the lawmaker saying his kind gesture of lifting his contituents out of poverty is commendable.
The monarch noted that Amobi has demonstrated to the world that he values and appreciates his constituents, adding that based on his track record of performance, he deserves another four years.
Oluwo charged the beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes to use the items given to them judiciously, urging those who are yet to benefit to be patient as the lawmaker will extend dividends of democracy to them.
