Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has restated his commitment to run an open and all inclusive administration, which he stressed is in line with the all inclusive participatory governance tenet of the present All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the State of Osun.
The Governor stated this on Wednesday while playing host to a delegation of Ayedaade Local Government Traditional Council led by the Olufi of Gbongan, Oba Dr. Adetoyese Oyeniyi Odugbemi 1 in his office in Osogbo, the state capital.
Governor Oyetola who appreciated the monarchs for standing by him all through the trying time, through their prayers which he maintained culminated in his victory, stated that through the pragmatic steps taken by his administration, Osun has remained to be the safest convincingly in the Southwest, and one of the most peaceful nationwide.
Mr. Oyetola told his visitors that himself and his brother governors in the Southwest have resolved to have a Joint Security Outfit to combat all manners of insecurity, stressing that each state will be donating 20 patrol vans each to prosecute the crusade with a view to assisting the forest guards together with other security apparatus in achieving massive security surveillance with a view to ridding the region of all manners of crime and criminality.
On Unregulated Mining Activities, Governor Gboyega Oyetola told the Monarchs that he has written to the Inspector General of Police, Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Staff to the President, Federal Ministries of Mining and that of Environment to intimate them of the plan of his administration to regulate mining activities in a way that will enhance security of lives and equally boost the economic potential of the state, maintaining that legal miners will be registered with a view to determining the authentic miners, thereby separating the wheat from the chaff.
In the area of infrastructural development, the Governor said his administration will not rest on its oars at ensuring that road rehabilitation and other forms of infrastructural development gets to every nook and cranny of the Land of Virtue, enjoining the good people of Osun to play their role by paying their taxes for his administration to meet up with and even surpass their expectations in terms of achievements very easily, maintaining that he is very committed to his promise of using their taxes hook, line and sinker to serve them meritoriously.
The State of Osun Helmsman stated for the umpteenth time that his door is always open for ideas and suggestions that can be of great assistance to the state, stressing that no one can ever be an island of knowledge, as he is only enjoying the mandate freely given by Osun people to superintend over their affairs.
Earlier in his remarks at the meeting, the Olufi of Gbongan, Oba Dr. Adetoyese Oyeniyi on behalf of the monarchs in Ayedaade Local Government Traditional Council rejoiced with Governor Gboyega Oyetola on his election and revalidation of same by the Supreme Court.
Oba Oyeniyi who pledged the unalloyed support of all the monarchs in Ayedaade Local Government to his administration, expressed their believe in Governor Gboyega Oyetola to changing the face of the State of Osun in no distant time, stressing that his administration is ordained by the Almighty God.
In her remarks, a National Assembly member representing the good people of Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan in the House of Representatives, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, extolled the virtues of the Governor who she stressed is an affirmation of the coming into pass of the covenant of Almighty God on the State of Osun.
Hon. Oluga who along a member of the State House of Assembly representing Ayedaade State Constituency, Hon. Adebayo Olodo, a Chieftain and Southwest Secretary of APC, Mr. Ayo Afolabi, a former member of the State Executive Council, Hon. Ismaila Jayeoba Alagbada, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Elder Tunde George Adedeji, the Chairman of Ayedaade Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullateef Adeyeye and his counterpart in charge of Ayedaade South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Quadri Lasisi joined the Ayedaade Local Government Traditional Rulers on the visit, told the Governor that the monarchs have never ceased to be by his side ever since the campaign period and all through the trying time, as they were always calling her from time to time to express their unflinching passion for his deserving success at the Supreme Court, as achieved earlier at the Court of Appeal.
Present at the event were the Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji, Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo and the State Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade.
