Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has restated the profound commitment of his administration to communal peace and progress.
Governor Oyetola stated this on Wednesday while hosting the stakeholders in the Ijesha land, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Feud in his office in Osogbo on Wednesday.
The Governor told his visitors comprising of the Owa Obokun of Ijesha Land, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, Elegboro of Ijebujesha, Oba Engr. Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, the Asiwaju of Ijesha land, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, House of Representatives member elect, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, Dr. Adigun Adewoye, Executive Director of Association of National Electricity Distributors (ANED), Barr. Sunday Oduntan, the Head, Branding and Communication, IBEDC, Mrs. Angela Olanrewaju, the Regional Head, IBEDC, Mr. Akin Ogunleye, Regional Technical Manager, IBEDC, Engr. Akin Abiodun, Regional Branding and Corporate Communication Officer IBEDC, Miss Kikelomo Owoeye, Business Commercial Manager, IBEDC Ilesha, Mr. Ojetokun Taiwo, the State Director of Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Brown Ekwoaba, State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Ebenezer Aboluwoye and Deputy Commissioner of Police M.A Abu who stood in for the State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Abiodun Ige, that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of topsy-turviness, enjoining all the stakeholders to embrace peace in the interest of Ijesha land, the state and the nation at large, stressing that Osun is renowned for its good record in the area of security, having been at several times rated and applauded as one of the most peaceful states in the country, adding that the state cannot afford not to sustain the laudable feat.
Mr. Oyetola urged the stakeholders to allow reason and interest of the people to prevail, maintaining that amicable resolution of the dispute is very germane, assuring them that his administration will not rest on its oars at ensuring the security of lives and property in the Land of Virtue.
In their separate remarks, the Owa Obokun of Ijesha land, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, the Asiwaju of Ijesha land, Asiwaju Lekan Fasuyi and the Executive Director of ANED who is the Spokeman for all the Electricity Distribution Companies, Barr. Sunday Oduntan, appreciated the Governor for taking time to resolve the matter despite his tight schedule.
The stakeholders assured Governor Oyetola that the matter will soon become a thing of the past, maintaining that the amicable resolution of the feud is already in sight.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Benedict Alabi, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Charles Akinola.
