There is hope rising for members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State as the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola is set for institution of board membership of all the state government parastatals and agencies in the state.
This information was disclosed by the state Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, during the party’s state executive meeting with all the party’s chairmen in the local government council areas across the state yesterday at the state party secretariat in Osogbo.
To this extent, Famodun in a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, explained that the leadership of the party in the state and the state government have agreed on a proposal for each of the local government council areas and local council development areas to send in three names of three nominees for the board membership consideration.
Famodun hinted that the leadership of the party would do all within its capability to be fair, just and transparent in the proposed constitution of the boards.
The state party chairman stated that the wish of the enemies of progress that former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and Governor Gboyega Oyetola are at war was bungled as there is no existing discord between the two foremost APC leaders in the state.
He disclosed that it was those who didn’t mean well for the party who have been spreading the phantom rift between Aregbesola and Oyetola.
The state party chairman said, it was very important for the stakeholders of the party to always prioritise its wellbeing in the interest of the growth of the party.
In his words: “All the stakeholders of our party should not talk down on Governor Oyetola under any guise. The governor operates an open-door policy. He is accessible to anybody who has any knotty issue to be addressed.
“There is no discord between Governor Oyetola and the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Aregbesola”, adding that “the wish of the enemies of progress to create crisis between the duo could neither fly nor sit as both are children of the same political father”.
He disclosed further that the state chapter of the party has lined up some activities that would be of immense benefit to all the stakeholders of the party in the new year.
Famodun also hinted that similar meeting would be held on Monday with both chairmen of the local government council areas with their LCDA counterparts and the party council chairmen across the state where vital issues on the party would be thrashed out while another meeting with all the ward chairmen of the party is slated for Wednesday.
The APC state chairman enjoined the APC council chairmen across the state to continue to have fair dealings with the operators of O’Meal in their various domains.
Famodun also disclosed that there would be regular meetings of the leadership and other stakeholders of the party in the state in order to propel and sustain peace and tranquillity in the party.
Alhaji Rasaq Salinshile, the state Secretary of the party, the state APC women leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde and all the other state executive members of the party in the state, were all in attendance.
