Oyinlola, Adeleke’s Dancing Video Goes Viral, Raises Poser

By Ismaeel Uthman

The speculation that the former governor of the State of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola might defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been further restated with the video of the former governor dancing with Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP.

Oyinlola was said to have hosted Adeleke who is representing Osun West Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate and other members of the PDP on Tuesday in Okuku.

In the 46 seconds video were former Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Hon Adejare Bello and former Chairman of Osogbo Local Government, Mr Teslim Igbalaye who is a loyalist of Oyinlola.

Both Oyinlola and Adeleke were dancing to a background music track of Chief Ebenezer Obey where he said ‘o ma se oju tele gan o’ (it is a pity, the mocker has been put to shame).

One of the people in the video was heard saying ‘no video, no video’, that is, nobody should film the dancing moment.

The video which has gone viral on the social media has regenerated the rumour that Oyinlola, the former National Secretary of the PDP was planning to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his former party.

Recently, Oyinlola, through the former Secretary to the Government of the State, Alhaji Kazeem Adio, dismissed the defection rumour, saying that he is still loyal to the APC.

Adio in the press statement said: “Prince Oyinlola is a major stakeholder in the party (APC); remember he was the secretary of the New PDP, a key component of the APC at the formative stage, he is also a member of the party’s Board of Trustees. He not only remains in the party but has also been silently working very hard to ensure its growth, stability and unity in the face of recent challenges,” the statement read.

“As a leader in Osun State who is at home with all segments of the society, Prince Oyinlola’s major concern at the moment is how to strengthen the party, make it get closer to the people and continue to make their welfare a priority. The people of Osun State can get their interest better served by remaining with the APC.”
