The Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed nine commissioner nominees sent by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Their names were contained in a letter earlier sent to the House by the Governor and read at plenary by the Deputy Speaker last week Friday.
The Commissioner nominees are Mr Abiodun Aikomo, Mr Segun Olaiwola, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Prof. Abdulwaheed Soliu, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye and Mr. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola.
Others are Mr. Williams Akin – Funmilayo, Prince Dotun Oyelade and Chief Obafemi Ademola Ojo.
The Speaker of the house, Adebo Ogundoyin, in his remarks, said the house had exercised its constitutional powers by confirming the appointment of the nominees.
In an interview with some of the commissioner designates after the screening, Mr. Segun Olayiwola, Prince Dotun Oyelade and Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun. expressed happiness at their nomination by Governor Makinde and described the opportunity as a call to serve the people of Oyo state again.
They promised to contribute their quota and ensure good governance for the growth of the state.
