Oyo LG Election: Gov. Makinde Declares Friday Half Working Day
Ahead of tomorrow’s local government election in Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared Friday (today) a half-working day for all public and civil servants in the state.
Osun Defender recalls that the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, has scheduled the local government election for Saturday, April 27, 2024.
However, in a circular by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, it was instructed that government offices would close by noon on Friday.
Essential service personnel are required to remain at their posts. The statement encourages all public and civil servants to participate in the election and exercise their civic duties.
“Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the declaration of Friday, April 26, 2024, as a half working day for all public and civil servants in the state.
“This is in connection with the local government election slated for Saturday, April 27, 2024,” the statement noted.
