The parents of Mubarak, a 14-year-old secondary student who was killed by a police stray bullet on November 4, 2021, at Command bus-stop in the Meiran area of Lagos State have welcomed a set of twins.
Osun Defender learnt that Abidemi, the mother of the deceased boy gave birth to the newborn babies last week Tuesday.
The babies were christened on Tuesday, November 14, at their church in the Abule Egba area of the state.
The delivery, however, came barely three days after the couple commemorated two years of Mubarak’s death.
The late Mubarak, a vulcaniser apprentice was hit by a bullet shot by a police officer attached to the Meiran Police Command while returning from his workshop. He died instantly after the bullet ripped his stomach open.
The incident happened while the officers were dispersing tricycle riders who were protesting the killing of their colleague by the police over a N100 bribe.
The mother who is currently blind told our correspondent that the birth of the twins was a consolation to the family after the death of their first child.
This is as the couple claimed they were still seeking justice for the death of their deceased son.
