There was panic at Abuja Airport on Friday as a MaxAir pilot reportedly locked himself in the plane cockpit for more than 5 hours.
The pilot, whose name was not known, was also said to had off his phone during that period.
According to a post on Instagram by hausaroom, trouble started when the pilot fought with his co-pilot.
The pilot was said to have been protesting against the Maxair management.
According to the post, the head of operation, MaxAir, had to come from Kano after 6 hours to fly the plane.

The post noted that the pilot was forced to come out by soldiers but the passengers insisted he should be part of the crew, fearing he might have tempered with the plan.
The post further read, “At first they removed him but angry customers started shouting that he needed to be part of the plane that how will they know if the plane is safe
“The head of operations has to come down the plane and apologize but people continue shouting that they are still not going without an apology from the pilot
“That was when the soldiers went to the second plane(the one that brought the new pilot from Kano) to get the old pilot so that he could come and apologize to the crowd.”
