A pastor of one spiritual church located in Opa area of Ile-Ife, popularly known as Olorunayo, Dayo Olorunayo had confessed having affairs with Mrs Busayo Adegoke, a plank trader with love potion, but denied using her for ritual purpose.
Testifying at the Traditional Emese court in the ancient city, the pastor said, Busayo was introduced to his church by one of her friends, Adeoti in search of solution to her menopause problem.
He stated further that the 30 years-old Busayo Adegoke complained to him that her menstruation had stopped, regardless of her young age, despite the fact that she needed to have more children.
The pastor said that her friend, Adeoti who introduced her to the church had similar problem sometimes and through him, the problem was solved and both of them have remained as friends till date.
The victim, Busayo Adegoke in her statement at the court said that the prophet gave her some concoction to drink and had been sleeping with her frequently since her friend introduced her to the church.
She added that the prophet also warned her not to disclose his relationship with her friend, Adeoti, saying that since the affairs between him and the pastor started, she had started losing weights, which had become the concern of his husband and her relatives.
When further interrogated, the prophet admitted that she only gave Busayo “love potion” but did not use her for any ritual purpose as speculated.
Giving ruling on the matter, the Emese court, blamed both Busayo and Adeoti for being promiscuous as both of them defiled their marriage on excuses.
It also blamed the said self-acclaimed man of God for taking advantage of the two women, but counselled Busayo who brought the matter to the palace court to seek medical attention in hospital concerning her ailment, just as they warned the prophet to desist from such act of sleeping with her church members.
