Pastor Chris Okafor Kneels, Publicly Apologises to Doris Ogala
Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following a controversy that led to her arrest and later release by the Nigeria Police.
Okafor made the apology in a viral video during a sermon, acknowledging past mistakes while disputing several of the allegations levelled against him.
“We’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender apologies to everybody. But everything that was said is not true; there are so many lies in most of the things said. In all, I am sorry to everyone I have offended.
“To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry. I apologise to everyone I have offended. Once again, I repeat I am ready to make restitution to anyone, any lady I have offended. I am sorry, forgive me. I am not perfect. I have never been perfect,” Okafor said, kneeling.
The dispute began after Ogala accused the cleric of failing to fulfil an alleged promise to marry her. Through her lawyers, Synergy Law Partners, she demanded N1 billion in damages for emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial loss.
Ogala also claimed that the relationship, which reportedly began in 2017, included assurances of marriage and introductions to Okafor’s family.
