The digital payment giant, PayPal, announced it resolved a global outage that disrupted services for nearly two hours on Thursday.
Osun Defender reports that PayPal confirmed this issue on its service status page, noting that it was facing a “system issue” impacting several products, including account withdrawals and express checkout.
The company also mentioned that the technical issue was resolved quickly.
Osun Defender had earlier reported that disruption, which began around 11:00 am GMT on Thursday caused widespread login failures across PayPal’s mobile app and website, sparking fears of a potential security breach.

According to Down Detector, a platform that tracks service disruptions, over 6,000 complaints were logged within the first hour of the outage, with nearly 90% of users citing login issues.
This led to a wave of frustration across social media platforms, with users venting their anger over the inability to access their funds or complete transactions.
It affected multiple PayPal products, including account withdrawals, the Venmo peer-to-peer payment service, online checkout, and cryptocurrency services.
However, by 1259 GMT, PayPal confirmed that the issue had been resolved. This is coming barely after two-hour of global outage.
