PDP Hails Governor Adeleke, Osun Residents Over LG Election Victory
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the people of Osun on the successful conduct and outcome of the Saturday, February 22, 2025 local government election.
In a press statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP described the election, which was conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), as free, fair, transparent, and credible.
The party emphasized that the success of the election represents a victory for democracy, the rule of law, and the principle of true federalism, while also serving as a rejection of alleged anti-democratic forces within the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the statement, the people of Osun demonstrated courage by turning out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional rights despite alleged intimidation attempts by the APC to subvert the electoral process.

The PDP asserted that its sweeping victory across all 30 local government areas in the state further solidifies its political dominance not only in Osun State but also in the South West and across the country.
The party credited its victory to Governor Adeleke’s outstanding achievements in key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, road construction, water resources, agriculture, and power supply.
The statement noted that the governor’s commitment to grassroots development has endeared him to the electorate, resulting in overwhelming support for the PDP in the election.
The PDP also urged the newly elected local government chairmen and councillors to align their governance with Governor Adeleke’s vision, ensuring that the people at the grassroots continue to benefit from his administration’s people-first policies.
The successful conduct of the election and the PDP’s resounding victory, the statement concluded, reaffirmed the confidence of Osun citizens in the party’s leadership and governance approach.
