The Peoples Democratic Party has frowned at INEC’s decision to extend the deadline for party primaries by six days.
Mr Debo Ologunagba, the PDP spokesperson, described the development by INEC as changing the goalpost in the middle of the game. He stressed that certainty of elections is the bedrock of democracy.
Ologunagba spoke Friday evening, at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, venue of the PDP convention on Saturday.
According to him, “The consequences will be grave for the country. And of course we have to look at that,” he said.
“The bedrock of democracy is certainty of elections and the fact that the rules are clear to every participant; and you cannot shift the goalpost in the middle of the game.”
