PDP Legal Adviser Slams Damagum, Calls His Tenure ‘Embarrassing’
The Deputy National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticised the party’s National Chairman, Iliya Damagum, describing his tenure as “horrible, embarrassing and unfortunate.”
Speaking on Saturday during an interview with Arise TV, Osuoha accused Damagum of gross incompetence and failing in his leadership duties.
“This tenure of Ambassador Damagum is horrible, embarrassing and unfortunate. We are shooting ourselves in the leg.
“The court was clear that we must obey the rule of law, yet the chairman continues to act outside due process,” he said.
Osuoha stressed that the party must comply with the court’s ruling, which restrained the planned national convention, before taking any further steps.
He added that the judgment clearly obliges the PDP to follow due process in line with the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act, and the party’s own constitution before convening its national convention.
