Peseiro Applies To Coach Egyptian Club Despite Engagement With Super Eagles

Nigeria head coach, Jose Peseiro has reportedly applied for the vacant coaching job at Zamalek SC in Egypt.

Osun Defender reports that Zamalek are in the market for a new coach after recently sacking Colombian, Juan Carlos Osorio for poor results.

Peseiro according to Egyptian website, Kooora, was among the coaches who have submitted their CVs for the top job.

A reliable club source told Kooora that, “Jose Peseiro is among the names already nominated to lead Zamalek.”

“But he does not enjoy any preference. He is just one name among many CVs on the board of directors’ table.”

The 63-year-old Portuguese recently penned a new short-term contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.

However, the head coach is currently under fire following the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s below-par performances in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The Eagles are without a win after two games following their 1-1 draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Sunday.
