Peter Obi Denies Viral Photos With Trump, MC Oluomo, Calls Them Doctored
Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has dismissed viral photos circulating online that claim he met with former United States President Donald Trump and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) President, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
In a statement via his official handle on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Obi described the photos as fake and doctored, stressing that he never had any meeting with Trump or MC Oluomo.
The former Anambra State governor decried the rising spread of fake news and disinformation in the country, warning that such acts are not only misleading but are deliberately designed to confuse and distract the public.
“My politics has never been about seeking praise or cheap publicity. It is about addressing the plight of suffering Nigerians through tackling insecurity, strengthening the rule of law, improving education and healthcare, and lifting millions out of poverty,” Obi said.
He further urged Nigerians to remain focused on issues that directly affect their lives rather than being swayed by disinformation campaigns.
The viral images, which surfaced on social media platforms earlier in the week, have since generated reactions, but Obi’s clarification has put to rest speculations about his alleged meetings.
