Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the State of Osun on Monday laid wreath in honour of Nigeria’s Slain soldiers in Osogbo.
The laying of wreath ceremony is an annual event in commemoration of January 15, the day Biafra Soldiers surrendered to Nigeria’s Armed Forces marking the end of the Nigerian Civil War in 1970.
Tagged the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the event is also geared towards recognizing efforts of Nigeria’s armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and as well celebrate the living legends.
At the event in Osun were the immediate past Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Aregbesola’s Deputy, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, the SSG, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti as well as the Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Osun State, Col Alimi Samotu (Rtd.)
