Government of the state of Osun, under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola today marked the 24th anniversary of the annulment of June 12, the election that was widely believed to have been won by late Chief MKO Abiola.
As part of activities to mark the day, a lecture titled; “24 Years after June 12: Challenges of Democracy in Nigeria” was organized where Mr Governor spoke succinctly on the need for restructuring in the country to strengthen the current democratic dispensation in Nigeria, which the struggle for the revalidation of the June 12, 1993 presidential election results helped to achieve.
The special lecture which was chaired by Governor Rauf Aregbesola has Prof Siyan Oyeweso, a professor of History from UniOsun as Guest Lecturer and other discussants in attendant.
