An unknown hunter has killed a big Elephant in Omo Forest, Ogun State. Residents of nearby villages were seen taking pictures with the fallen Elephant.
However, an NGO, The Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI Africa), has condemned the killing of the Elephant.
In a tweet through its handle @ EPIAfrica, the NGO said, “Sad. Near Omo Forest, Ogun, not far from Lagos, 4th elephant illegally shot dead in 2 yrs. #Nigeria’s few elephants – c400- fast disappearing”.
