P&ID Arbitration: Law Firm Threatens to Sue Seun Kuti Over False Allegation

B.A Law Firm has threatened to sue the controversial son of Afrobeat singer Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti over what it described as malicious publications against its principal partner, Dr. Bolaji Ayorinde SAN.

A release by Akinlabi Apara, Partner & Head of chambers of the firm, said Kuti took to the social media platform “Instagram” where he labelled Ayorinde traitor and insinuated that the law guru intentionally leaked documents in the P&ID Arbitration to claimants who had sued the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The statement said Ayorinde, who represented Nigeria at the later stage of the Arbitration has never been found laible of any allegations any court.

The statement further disclosed that the firm is currently considering legal options including civil and criminal actions against Seun stating that allegations made in the videos as are misconcieved, untrue and of no moment.

The statement partly reads: “Our attention has been brought to series of video publications released by a certain Seen Kuti on the Social Media platform “Instagram” with the handle @bigbirdkuti wherein he had insinuated and represented to the public that the Principal Partner to BA LAW LLP, Chief (Dr) Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, OFR, FCArb is a Traitor and had intentionally leaked documents in the P&ID Arbitration to the Claimants who had sued the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“While the Federal Republic was represented by Chief (Dr) Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, OFR, FCArb at the latest stage of the Arbitration after Nigeria had been found initially liable, we categorically state that no allegation of corrupt practice was made by any Tribunal or Court against person of Chief Ayorinde.”

He however urged the geneal public to disregard the content of the publications as they nothing but false allegations.

“The Firm and Chief (Dr) Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, OFR, FCArb Unequivocally deny the allegations made in the videos as they are misconcieved, untrue and of no moment. We are currently considering all legal options available including civil and criminal actions against this individual and his sponsors. We advise that all persons discontenance these malicious publications,” he added
