Plateau Commissioner Dies Jogging; 3rd Official to Die in 5 Weeks

Samuel Galadima, Plateau housing and urban development commissioner has died while jogging this morning with the state Governor, Simon Lalong, at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.

Reports had it that the commissioner slumped but made it alive to an hospital. He was however gasping for breath by the time he got to the hospital and doctors were not able to stabilise him.

Galadima is the third top official in Plateau State to die within the last five weeks. Six days ago, Pius Dashe, the Chief Administration Officer, Plateau State Government House, Jos died after a brief illness; and on February 19, Governor Lalong’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Yusuf Gambo Hawaja died in the car while being taken to the hospital after he collapsed at home.

Mr Emmanuel Nanle, Director of Press Affairs, confirmed the incident “Yes, the commissioner slumped while jogging and was rushed to the Plateau Specialist Hospital, where he died,” he said.
