Governor Simon Lalong gave the assurance in Jos while receiving the report on IDPs resettlement committee, expressing government resolve for immediate implementation of the recommendations towards returning displaced persons to their respective abode.

In the pursuit of finding a lasting solution to the incessant attacks in some parts of the state which left over 20,000 persons displaced from their ancestral homes, the government inaugurated a five-man committee to investigate and make recommendations for the return of the internally displaced persons to their original places of abode.

For a safe return of the affected persons to their abode, the committee recommended a four-phase strategy with proper security arrangement on the ground to avoid further attacks on the communities.

With the displaced persons eager and willing to return to their homes, the governor assured of government immediate implementation of the committee report which will fast-track the return of displaced persons soonest.
