Plateau: Police Arrest Christmas Eve Attackers

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of some suspects in connection with the killings in Barking Ladi and Bokkos local government area of the State on December 24, 2023, which left over 200 persons dead and thousands displaced.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, made the disclosure in Jos, the state capital, on Thursday night.

Although the Police spokesperson did not give details, he said he would issue a formal statement concerning the arrest this Friday.

The Nigeria Police Force had deployed personnel and equipment for a special operation in the troubled areas last week, following the presidential order to apprehend those behind the killings.

The Senate also summoned heads of security agencies blaming the incident on intelligence failure.
