Police Ambush Robbers In Effurun Delta
Policemen in Ekpan Divisional Headquarters at about 11 am today cut-off some gang of armed robbers with weapons along the NPA Expressway by the Army Barrack in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Police recovered some few item, which includes two empty AK47 Magazines and some facemask and two plate numbers – AR593UGH and PTN706TA.
The gang of armed robbers who are now at large were intercepted by Officers and men of the Ekpan Division who were on a routine patrol
while transferring the weapons into Gold coloured Camry Car believed to have been snatched and stolen.
On sighting the Police, the suspected armed robbers fled with the Camry and abandoned a C240 Mercedes Benz with Registration Number-BEN 926AH.
Contacted, the Ekpan Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ahmed Ibn Umar declined comments on the matter.
The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Anamika said,” That’s hot news and a good one. It tells you that our men are not resting on their oars. 24/7 we are working to make the society safe.”
