The State of Osun Police Command have apprehended a herbalist simply identified as SEMIU OYEWO with unlawful posession of human skull.
It was gathered that the Police patrol team on routine highway patrol along Ile-Ife/Ibadan road, intercepted one Honda Accord vehicle with Reg. No. AGL 412 CD black colour driven by the suspect one Semiu Oyewo ‘m’ of Alamole area, Ondo road, Ile-Ife, searched the vehicle and recovered the human skull.
Osun Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode made the disclosure in a media briefing at the police headquarters in osogbo on Tuesday.
He said during the course of investigation and interrogation, the suspect confessed that, he is an herbalist and bought the suspected human skull from his co-herbalist one Ige ‘m’ aka Igwe of Apomu who had absconded.”
The Police navigated its investigation to the house of the arrested suspected and recovered various ‘Juju’ and fetish items which they hid in the bush.
According to CP, ” the said suspected human skull was bargained for twenty five thousand naira only (N25, 000.00) while he paid twenty thousand naira only (N20, 000.00) to later balance five thousand naira only (N5, 000.00) . The Police navigated its investigation to the house of the arrested suspected and recovered various ‘Juju’ and fetish items which they hid in the bush.”
Osun Defender learnt that the police also arrested notorious hoodlums who have been terrorizing Ilesa/Osogbo and its environs, are hibernating and planning to launch another attack at Halleluyah and Ido-Osun areas of Osogbo,
The suspects were, “1. SUNDAY OLAMIPOSI ‘m’ AGED 21YRS aka Ajanaku, OLUMIDE AJAYI ‘M’ AGED 20YRS aka Mighty, IFE MICHEAL ‘M’ AGED 20YRS aka coded, KAMILU ADEOTI ‘M’ AGED 24YRS.
He said, “On 1st July, 2021 at about 0113hrs upon intelligence gather that, a gang of the Police operatives from CP’s surveillance quickly moved to the scene, busted the hideouts of the hoodlum at Rinsayo area, Osogbo and arrested the above named suspects.
“Their modus operandi is that, they move from one house to another with cutlasses and raping their female victims. The two of the four suspects have been identified by score of victims residing at Halleluyah and Ido-Osun communities respectively. They will be charged to court after the completion of investigation”.
The Police also paraded armed robbery and motorcycle snatchers in osogbo and its environs.
The suspects were, ” DAVID EMMANUEL ‘M’ AGED 22YRS, OGENE JIDE ‘M’ AGED 23YRS, ADEKANMI EMMANUEL ‘M’ AGED 22YRS, ORIOWO GBENGA ‘M’ AGED 20YRS.
The police recovered One BAJAJ Motorcycle and six handsets.
“On 9th July, 2021 at about 0730hrs, a commercial motorcyclist was stopped by an unknown potential customer to convey him to Ita-Osin village. Along the way, the victim was hit on the head with a stick before his motorcycle was made away with. Upon a distress call, a team of policemen from the Tactical operatives unit, swung into prompt action, which led to the arrest of the four (4) of the six (6) gang of criminals; mentioned above. Their confession led to the recovery of the victim’s motorcycle, and six handsets. They also confessed to the series of crimes earlier committed within the environs.
