The police have nabbed a kidnap kingpin, Roland Raymond, while about to collect ransom from a victim’s relatives in Adamawa State.
The suspect is a resident of Detti Village in Ganye Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday.
Nguroje said the suspect was arrested following a report by one Alhaji Yahya Congo and Abraham Paul, who confirmed that the suspect called them via phone and demanded the sum of N600,000 or risk being kidnapped.
“Upon receipt of the complaints, the police in Ganye Division, in collaboration with hunters, swiftly mobilized and arrested the suspect at the point of collecting the demanded money,” Nguroje said.
The PPRO further added the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
