Police Arraign 50-Year-old Man For Allegedly Stealing Motorcycle

The Osun state police on Tuesday, February 27, 2017 arraigned Adekoleoye Oladimeji before a magistrate court in Osogbo, Osun state capital, charged for stealing motorcycle.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Mustapha Tajudeen informed the court that the accused person committed the offence on 19th November, 2017, at about 4:30pm at Ogo-Oluwa area in Osogbo.

The prosecutor told the court that the accused person stole one motorcycle with engine number DUZWHB40408 and chassis number MD2A18AY6HWB53041 which valued N260,000 property belonging to lnaolaji Saheed, an offence contrary to Section 383 (1) and punishable under Section 516, 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Adekoleoye Oladimeji pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against him.

The counsel to the accused person, Mr E.l. lkuobasi prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

The magistrate, Mr O. T. Badmus, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum.

Badmus said, the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and provide evidence of three-year tax payments and three passports sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means as the address must be verified by the police.

The case was then adjourned till March 23rd 2018 for hearing.
