Police Arraign Man For Alleged Theft Of N.3m ‘Ero Arike’

The Police Command in the State of Osun has arraigned a 43-year-old man, Adeleke Fisayo before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo, the State capital, over alleged theft and pretense.

Prosecutor, Idoko John told that the court that Fisayo, on the 22nd of October, 2017 at Iragbiji area of the state, obtained four bags of “Ero Arike” Herbal Cream valued N300,000 from one Adegboye Ademola under the pretense of selling the product and remitting the money to him.

John posited that the accused also stole the aforementioned money by diverting it to his personal use.

The Prosecutor said the offense is contrary to section 383 and punishable under sections 390(9), 419A(1) and 508 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.

In his plea, the accused pleaded not guilty of the charge preferred against him and his counsel, Barrister Raji Abiodun prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Magistrate Mary Awodele granted the accused bail of N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case to be mentioned at the Iragbiji Magistrate Court on the 19th of January, 2018.
