Osun State Police command has arraigned a-33-year-old man, Adewumi Ademurele on Monday before an Osogbo Chief Magistrate court over alleged false pretence.
The accused was arraigned before magistrate Mary Awodele on a two-count charge of false pretence and stealing.
Police Prosecutor sergeant Fatoba Temitope told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 10, 2018 in Osogbo.
Sergeant Fatoba said the accused obtained the sum of N290,000 from Oyedele Adebayo with pretence to supply him planks for the construction of his building.
He further stated that the accused committed an offence contrary to section 383(i), 418 and punishable under the section 419, 3909 (a) of the Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol. II laws of Nigeria 2002.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against him.
His counsel, Barrister Bose Dada prayed the court to grant her client bail in most liberal term, adding that if granted bail, he will not jump bail and will provide reliable sureties.
The magistrate granted the accused person bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the same sum.
The case was later adjourned till June 11, 2018 for mention.
