Police Arraign Suspected Burglar Over N517,000 Theft
A 21-year-old man, Oluwarantimi Kayode, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly breaking into the house of one Ibrahim Aliyu in Osogbo.
Kayode, according to the Police, conspired with his friend who was on the run to burgle Aliyu’s house where they stole a sum of 517,000.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER on Wednesday, the defendant committed the offence on October 20, 2023, at Station Road area of Osogbo.
The alleged offence, according to the police, is punishable under Section 516 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun, 2002.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges pressed against him, even as he had no legal representation.
In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, Adekanmi Adeyeba, granted bail to the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.
The case was adjourned till December 12, 2023 for hearing.
